It's been a while since this page was tended to, so here are a few updates for everyone:
We are continually adding new events to our calendar. Just check with our calendar of events here to find out what's going on. We're doing a lot of new stuff these days. Arts and crafts classes have really taken off and we're always adding more.
We've also started a Mah Jongg league where we held training sessions for people who wanted to learn. They're now playing independent games every Monday. If you know how to play and want to have some fun on a Monday afternoon, stop in at 2pm. If you or someone you know is interested in learning, we are hoping to have more training sessions around the beginning of May. We have a waiting list started, so stop in or call to get your name on the list.
We also play Euchre every Wednesday afternoon at 2:00pm. We have a nice group of people playing, but there's always room for more. If you're interested, just stop in on Wednesday to join in.
Don't forget we have museum passes to a variety of museums in the area. Most passes based on a BOGO - Buy One Get One. Buy one admission at the regular price and get the second one free. We were the first library in the Pioneer Library System to offer these passes and only one of two that now offer them. It's a great deal and a great way to spend some quality family time. Our Rochester Museum and Science Center passes are also good for most events at the Planetarium and Cumming Nature Center, as well.
Lastly, we ask that you sign up for classes that require it. It's for your benefit as much as ours. For example, we recently had a couple of classes that were cancelled at the last minute and we were able to call the individuals that had signed up to let them know. However, there were some that didn't sign up and showed up for the class. We felt terrible they drove here only to learn the event was cancelled. Signing up for the class doesn't obligate you to attend, it just makes it easier for you. Something to keep in mind. :)
