March Events

We have some exciting classes and seminars for you in the month of March.  In fact, we have 15 different events scheduled.  Some of the highlights are a class on maple syrup production in your own yard on March 9, a seminar on the alternative solar and geothermal energy sources on March 12, and a performance by the Young School of Irish Dance on March 16, the day before St. Patrick's Day.  This will surely be a crowd pleaser, as kids ages 5-12 will be performing traditional Irish dances.  As always, check our calendar of events for upcoming programs.  There's sure to be something you like.

Events and Classes for the Week of February 2

So after a snow day on Monday the 2, we are back in the swing of things.  On Wednesday Feb 4, we are having another Pinterest class(back by popular demand).  We'll be covering the basic usage of this social media website, so if you want to know more about what it does, sign up soon.  Seats are filling up fast.  We also have our monthly "Tech Class with Andrew" on Thursday the 5th.  Andrew will be covering the ins and outs of the Android operating system, often found in NON-Apple tablets and smartphones.  You will find this class very helpful, I think.  You do not need to bring your device with you, but it wouldn't hurt if you did.

As always, you can sign up for any class by clicking on the Calendar of Events image in the left hand column.

The very first Adult Summer Reading Program has officially ended at the Victor Library, and it was a smashing success.  We had over 40 people registered, and over 1200 reading hours logged.  That's a lot of reading!  Thank you to all who participated and for those who have not yet picked up your prize(s), they are here waiting for you at the library.  For those of you who logged 30 or more hours of reading, stay tuned for the grand prize drawing.  One name will be drawn, and we will contact you if you are the winner.  Best of luck to all!

Next year, we hope to improve on what we've started, making the summer reading program for adults even better.  Again, thank you to all who participated, and we hope to see you (plus others!) next year.

Alzheimer's Association of Rochester and the Finger Lakes

Starting in September, we will be collaborating with the Alzheimer's Association of Rochester and the Finger Lakes to offer monthly classes on Alzheimer's disease and how it affects all family members.  The classes will be on the third Thursday of each month, from 6:30 - 8:00.  Each month will focus on a different topic.  We are very excited to provide these monthly educational programs.  As always, all our events are free and open to the public. We continue to strive to bring you  educational programs that you feel are beneficial.
