As we continue through spring, there are some great opportunities for lifelong learning and continuing ed at the library.  The month of May has a variety of classes and seminars.  Just in time for the season, we're holding a couple of gardening classes and we'll also be leading a birdwatching hike on the Victor Hiking Trails on May 4.  We also have a very special folk music event on May 6: Tunes by the Tracks Too will be here.  Normally held at the Clifton Springs Library, the group is branching out and coming to our library to play some amazing music.  I know I am anxiously awaiting the performance(s)!  It will begin at 7pm and continue until 9pm and it will surely be a packed house.  Come early for a good seat.  A $5 donation is requested. On May 14, Wades Market Center will instruct and entertain you on cooking scallops.  This will be a fun-filled interactive class where not only do you learn how to cook scallops, you also get to sample the finished product!  Each participant also walks away with a $10 gift card to Wades.  You can't beat that.  Wrapping up May, the Rochester Beekeepers will be here to explain what honeybees do, how they make honey, what they do over the winter, and the coolest part - a self-contacted hive will be on display.  But never fear!  It's perfectly safe and will be a fascinating topic of discussion, for sure.  As always, check the Calendar of Events from the main library website for all events and times.  Most events require you to sign-up so you can not only ensure a seat, but we can also contact you if need be.
